Normal delivery,
also known as vaginal birth, is the natural process of giving birth through the
birth canal. During a normal delivery, the mother experiences contractions that
help to push the baby through the cervix and into the world. It is the most
common and safest way of childbirth when there are no complications. This
process typically results in a shorter recovery time for the mother and is
associated with fewer medical interventions.
Operative Delivery:
Operative
delivery is a medical procedure used when there are complications or risks
associated with a vaginal birth. There are two main types of operative
deliveries: forceps delivery and vacuum extraction. In a forceps delivery,
specially designed forceps are used to gently guide the baby's head through the
birth canal. In vacuum extraction, a vacuum cup is attached to the baby's head,
and suction is used to aid the delivery. Operative deliveries are typically
recommended when there are concerns about the safety of the baby or mother
during a vaginal birth. While they can be necessary in some situations, they
may lead to a longer recovery period and potential complications.
